Unwind at the LA Wine Fest
This year marks the 14th annual LA Wine Fest. The festival will take place in its new home in Long Beach at the historic Pike Outlets between June 1st and June 2nd. The event will take place 2pm to 6pm on Saturday and 1pm to 5pm on Sunday. There will be almost 50 wineries in attendance as well craft breweries. A selection of boutique wines has been reserved for VIP admissions, only.

This taco connoisseur returns with a new festival
Bill Esparza is serious about tacos. So serious that his new event, Taqueando, is an all-out taco fest. Esparza previously curated the vendors for events like LA Weekly’s Tacolandia, which ended in 2017, and he is now pioneering his solo project which is debuting next month. The event will take place on June 15th at the Row DTLA. He will be featuring over 40 taqueros from Southern California, Mexico and beyond (Breddo’s Tacos, London).

Night Market: All-Star BBQ
When Sundays come to mind, it brings back memories of barbecuing. The final Night Market special event was dedicated to this slow-cooked, comfort food. The All-Star BBQ featured pit masters from Cali, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and New York.

Night Market: LA’s Best Burger
Who has LA’s Best Burger? That was the theme for Night Market’s fourth night - actually, day as this event took place in the afternoon and would be followed by another event in the evening. The event was hosted by LA Times’ own Jenn Harris and Off The Menu’s Lawrence Longo. Attendees were encouraged to vote for their favorite burger. The judges would also get to cast their vote. Night Market: Fried Chicken Party
It’s time to party! The third night of Night Market celebrated fried chicken. This southern staple has taken LA by storm as every year we are getting waves of new spots opening up that are solely dedicated to fried chicken. Included with these openings are the countless pop-ups specializing in Nashville-style fried hot chicken. The Fried Chicken Party was curated with some of the best spots for crispy and succulent chicken.

The first special event at Night Market was the Collaboration Lab. It joined chefs from beloved LA restaurants as well as national and international chefs to create a dish that embodied the cuisine at their respective restaurants. The collaborations were as follows:

Inside the LA Food Bowl Night Market
The LA Food Bowl is a month long celebration of all things food in LA. It explores the diverse culinary landscape of LA and the cultures that influence it. One of the longest running events is Night Market. Night Market is modeled after the street food open-air markets in Asia that operate in the evening and it’s a collection of some of the best local eats.
